Ms. Farthing

Ms. Farthing has been a counselor at AHS for over 15 years and an HCPS employee for 26 years!  She is from Buffalo, New York and received her counseling degree from Niagara University which is right down the street from Niagara Falls!  Ms. Farthing believes that all students deserve a solid education so that they can have the foundation they need to become thriving adults.  She is passionate about helping students reach their full academic, social, and emotional potential. Her philosophy is student-centered, and solution focused.  She works closely with students, staff, and parents to help students realize their potential.  Ms. Farthing and the rest of the AHS Counseling Department offer a comprehensive counseling program that addresses the academic, career and personal/social development of all students. Outside of school, Ms. Farthing can be found caring for her rescue pups, volunteering at Luna’s House, practicing yoga, hiking, biking, or traveling.  Her favorite quote is by Rumi: “Your heart knows the way.  Run in that direction”

Ms. Manning-Gohlinghorst

Ms. Manning-Gohlinghorst joined the AHS community in 2023. She was a high school counselor for 10 years then became a college consultant and decided to return to the school counseling and has been at Aberdeen for a year. She is happy to be at Aberdeen and really enjoys working with the students and their families. She also enjoys talking to students about their future plans after high school. She has two children who are both in college and she really enjoys traveling with her family.  Her favorite place to vacation is at the beach.

Ms. Humphreys

Ms. Humphreys has been a part of the AHS community for over 30 years.  She believes that focusing on students’ strengths and successes, each student can recognize their own potential.  Ms. Humphreys hopes to help each student move forward with self-confidence and positivity.  Ms. Humphreys is excited to meet with students individually, in small groups, and in classrooms.  She works closely with as a team with parent/guardians, teachers, administrators, and staff to ensure every student is receiving the support they need to guide them through high school and beyond.  When not in school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3 dogs.  During vacations from school, she loves to travel both domestically and internationally.  She loves cruising and has visited Alaska, Belize, Spain, and the fjords of Norway all from a cruise ship.  Ask her about her visit to Stavanger, Norway.

Ms. Joyce

Ms. Joyce has been a part of the AHS team since 2018. She loves helping students and her favorite part about being a counselor is watching students grow and develop their passions and personalities throughout high school. Ms. Joyce grew up in Nazareth Pennsylvania, home of the famous Martin Guitar. She is a pop music enthusiast and loves to go to concerts. When she is not at school, she also loves to travel internationally and recently travelled to Australia and New Zealand. She also loves spending time with her husband and her cat. She is excited to get to know her students and help them reach their future goals!
