Connect 5 Outreach May 18, 2021

Good evening,

This is Michael Quigg, principal of Aberdeen High School reaching out with an important update for the graduating class of 2021.

HCPS has reviewed the recent changes from Governor Hogan, and I am pleased to share the following updates pertaining to our graduation on May 24th at 6:00 p.m. at Ripken Stadium:

  • Each graduate will receive two additional tickets for the event. They will be distributed via senior material drop off tomorrow through Friday May 21st in the main office.
  • Please note: Graduates and HCPS staff will be required to wear masks during commencement. Graduates will be permitted to remove their mask for a professional photo after they have received their diploma. They must put their mask back on following the photo opportunity, prior to re-joining their classmates.
  • We recommend and ask that spectators wear their masks at their seats. We understand Ripken Stadium has noted it is not required if you have been fully vaccinated, but in support of our students and families who may not have been fully vaccinated at this time, we recommend wearing your mask while attending graduation.

We look forward to seeing you at graduation. Once again, graduation will be on May 24th at 6:00 p.m. You will be able to enter the stadium at 5:00 p.m. We recommend arriving no earlier than 4:45 to allow the prior graduation time to vacate the stadium and parking lot.

Thank you and have a wonderful evening!
