Connect 5 Call September 4, 2020

Good evening Eagles,

This is Principal Quigg reaching out with some very important reminders:

  • If your student is attending the Learning Support Center, he/she must have two documents in order to attend on Tuesday.  First, in order to get onto the bus, a copy or screenshot of the Learning Support Center Acceptance Letter must be shown to the bus driver upon boarding the bus.  If you do not have a copy, you may print out a generic one at https://www.hcps.org/hcpstogether/docs/Learning_Support_Center_Acceptance_Letter.pdf.  Second, a copy of the COVID-19 Parent Acknowledgement that is printed out and signed will be required upon arrival to school.  This document can be found at https://www.hcps.org/hcpstogether/docs/ParentAcknowledgementLetterCOVID19v8-3-20.pdf if you need a copy.  Your student will not be able to join their classmates in the Learning Support Center without a completed COVID-19 Parent Acknowledgement document.

  • Harford County Public Schools has a limited number of hotspots for families in need.  The criteria for consideration for a hotspot would be those families who do not have broadband internet service available at their residence.  Families who wish to apply for a hotspot should send their information, including address to [email protected].  If/when approved, the hotspot would be delivered to your child’s school for pick up.  Parents would also need to complete a Student Hotspot Device Agreement when picking up the hotspot.

  • Any freshman who is interested in participating in high school sports at AHS is encouraged to check their HCPS email for an interest survey.

  • Senior pictures are scheduled at AHS for September 9, 10 & 11 from 2pm to 9pm. If you did not receive notice of your time, or have forgotten your appointment time, please visit www.prestigeportraits.com.  In order to schedule the Yearbook-only formal pose for the class of 2021, when Seniors confirm their appointment online, they should select the "basic" sitting and then NOT pay for it. (You don't need to pay for a sitting to confirm a senior appointment.) When Seniors come to the camera during their scheduled appointment time, all they need to do is tell the receptionist that they'd like the YEARBOOK ONLY sitting and they'll be good to go.  This free sitting will not include anything other than the formal Yearbook-only pose.

  • Please remember Tuesday September 8th is a B day. All students are reminded to check in with the attendance app on the HCPS homepage each day, even if you are a part-time student.  Also, if you have not completed the parent forms online, please make sure the hardcopies are completed and returned to school no later than Friday September 18, 2020.

Students and parents are encouraged to visit our AHS webpage, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages for updates and additional information pertaining to back to school news, important reminders, and upcoming events.

Thank you and we hope you have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!  We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday!
